Meet Our Staff

Michael "Todd" Shellnutt

Michael "Todd" Shellnutt became involved in aviation late in his life. After serving his country in the U.S. Navy, he decided that a career in flying would serve him best. Todd is a 2001 graduate of Southeastern Flight School formally located in Macon, GA and holds a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics with emphasis on Commercial Pilot Specialization from Liberty University. Since the day he first instructed in a classroom, Todd has excelled in his aviation teaching skills. He also has held several positions within the pilot community and currently serves as the Chief Pilot for a local corporate flight department. In addition to teaching and flying locally, Todd has also delivered small single engine aircraft from the US over the North Atlantic Ocean to the UK and across Europe. He currently holds a Commercial Single & Multi-Engine Airplane pilot certificate with Instrument privileges as well as all instructor ratings for airplane certifications.

 

Linda Shellnutt

Linda Shellnutt's career has spanned 30+ years of customer service and business ownership, preparing her to assume the role at Skyline Columbus as the co-owner/entrepreneur. She fulfills many roles here at Skyline including managing the Laser Grade Testing Center, customer service, accounting functions, sales/marketing, inventory control, and relationship management. Customers and staff find her on duty 24/7 and always "willing to go the extra mile" to provide them with an environment offering quality flight training in the safest manner possible. When not working at Skyline, you can find Linda spending time with her special little angel, Dustin.

 

Diego Alzate

Diego Alzate served his country as an Army Officer for 5 years when he realized that had to pursuit his dream of flying and earning his college degree. In 2006, Diego graduated from Columbus State University with a Bachelor in Business Administration. He also went on to flight school and obtained his Commercial Pilot certification (Single & Multi-Engine), Ground & Flight Instructor Single & Multi-Engine Instrument certifications and has been working for Skyline Columbus since we opened the doors in 2009. When not flying, you can find Diego at his second home, the gym!

 

Steven Hewlett

Steven Hewlett began his flight training at the former Georgia Aviation Technical College in Eastman, GA completing his Private through Commercial ratings and began working on his Instructor qualifications. After leaving from college he worked for several small corporate flight departments then decided to go back and finish his instructor ratings. Steven has been a FAA Certified Flight Instructor since 2009 and currently works as a Corporate Pilot on a Citation CJ-3 jet aircraft. He currently holds a Commercial Single & Multi-Engine Pilot Certificate with Instrument Privileges and is also an Advanced Ground Instructor and a Certified Flight Instructor. You can normally find Steven at the flight school when he is not flying around in the jet!
